Primary Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Lead Training BCBA and Service Line Directors, this BCBA will provide support and training to all behavior technicians (BTs) across BT job responsibilities, using Behavioral Skills Training (BST) and Motivational Interviewing. Connections provides comprehensive initial and ongoing training. This position includes frequent use of a didactic teaching model, use of behavior skills training, and implementing evidence-based interventions to support the clinical development of staff. This position may also include administering evidence-based assessments, writing individualized programs, and implementing a treatment plan to teach appropriate behaviors relative to communication, socialization, and self-help skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with initial and ongoing training and/or coaching to Connections BTs. Provide feedback to new staff in training in a professional and constructive manner. BST will be utilized to communicate with staff (further training in BST will be provided). This may include providing difficult feedback to trainees and diffusing potential conflict.
- Administer and interpret evidence-based assessments.
- Write and implement individualized programming as appropriate.
- Model professional conduct at all times.
- Model and explain behavioral terms and principles to staff members.
- Work with a variety of different clients, running programs with fluency and fidelity.
- Collect data on both client and staff performance simultaneously with fidelity. Conduct fidelity and interobserver agreement (IOA) checks on BTs.
- Subbing to assist with coverage of staff absences when there are no current training needs.
- Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss barriers and new initiatives.
- Present instruction and curriculum for training purposes in alignment with the BACB’s RBT task list.
- Obtain QBS Safety Care Trainer certification and administer safety care training courses throughout the year.
- Provide supervision to behavior technicians and billing for services with both school and insurance funded clients.
- Support clinical teams through supervision, programming reviews, and ongoing training of staff.
Minimum Requirements:
- Current BCBA Credential and ability to obtain state LBA certification within 30 days of hire/promotion.
- At least 10-12 months working in the field of ABA in centers, homes, or a school setting assisting with training or development of staff.
- Ability to label and define key ABA terms and to clearly disseminate foundational knowledge.
- Reliable automobile with current proof of car insurance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass FBI criminal background clearance.
Preferred Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years working in the field of ABA in centers, homes, or a school setting.
- Ability to speak, lead, and instruct new staff.
- Strong comprehension of Connections internal training program, BACB requirements, and Connections Employee Handbook and policies and procedures manual.
- Proven track record utilizing Behavior Skills Training.
- Strong understanding of the insurance treatment plan and IEP process.
- Strong consultation skills, including building rapport and communication skills.
- Strong writing and scheduling skills with efficient time management and organization.
- Strong desire to work in a dynamic team and advance knowledge in Applied Behavior Analysis.
Compensation: $76,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
